With Seo Young Mokja’s absence, you might be wondering how the audio/media ministry is going along. Currently, Lee Kye Wook Mokja is taking care of both audio and media; Mokjas Chung Hae Joon, Hong Soon Woo, and Lee Sung Eun are rotating, helping as assistants. Looking long term, it seems that we are in a situation where finding a new leader to take charge of the media ministry is necessary. However, if there is no one to lead at the moment, we can nominate a volunteer and train him or her as the new leader.
Personally, I believe that in the case of the media ministry, there is nothing more important than mindset. This is because if one believes that doing ministry work itself is a ‘mission’ given by God, he or she will be able to step by step learn the technical aspects of the job. Additionally, because this ministry work is done while the service is going on, it is often hard to focus on the worship; hence, it is best if this particular role is done by one who has the ability to continuously keep their faith strong. It is good for those — who want to take up this role — to re-listen to the sermon during the week, see the process of preparing praise, sermon, etc, as part of the worship itself, and pray. This way, she herself (or he himself) will be able to be blessed, helping others to be blessed as well. (These are all things that I have learned while watching Seo-Young Mokja serve this role. ^^) Furthermore, unlike conventional belief, this job is also suited very well for women since the work itself requires a certain level of delicacy and dedication. It seems that a lot of people are afraid to volunteer for this ministry, particularly due to a fear of not knowing too well the technology used. I would advise you to pray first before anything else.
There is a saying that audio and media are responsible for more than half of the modern worship service. In current times where we need to ‘stream’ the service online, the importance of the audio/media ministry has become even more significant. Concerning that the weight of the ministry work itself has increased that much, I too will pray and re-examine the qualifications, etc. I pray that we will be able — together — find a new ministry leader and continue to grow the church.
