For children Mokja’s ministry to be more meaningful, the parent generation’s prayer and support are a must.
The parent generation needs to teach the children Mokjas about the two most important prayer requests of any Mokjang: ‘saving souls and raising disciples’; they must encourage children Mokjas to pray for such causes together. Before the Mokjang meeting begins, the parents or Mokja/Mokyeao of children Mokja should share with them about the specifics of Mokjang meetings, show them the heart of God and have a time of prayer with them. After the Mokjang meeting, take time to listen to what children Mokjas need to say, share with them the stories during adult Mokjang meetings, and be available to pray together with them.
You need to be wise in sharing the Mokjang’s prayer requests with children Mokjas. You must take into consideration the age of children Mojkas and their circumstances when selecting the prayer requests to share. And please teach them about the rules in keeping the prayer requests confidential. Focusing on saving souls as a strategy in selecting the prayer requests is always a good idea. Such requests should be specific rather than being too abstract. Once you make prayer requests to children Mokjas, you should also be diligent in informing them of the answers received. Let them know if God’s answer was “yes, No, or Wait” and help them practice discerning the will of God.
Never stop praying and mentoring children Mokjas so their heart will be like that of David. Mokjas (parents) should have ears to listen to their stories . Ask and listen to their concerns, their state of mind and heart, any good news they want to share, and any help they might need. Don’t overwhelm them with too many ideas. Instead, open your ears to what they have to say, explore the common ground that you can share with them, and find the right moment where you can teach them.
There will be moments when children Mokjas need adult’s help; do not turn a blind eye when such an occasion arises. The parents and Mokja (Mokyeos) of children Mokjas are responsible for sharing their concerns and setting realistic goals for helping them. I will also play the role in doing such, and we will find someone dedicated to take care of children Mokjas. However please remember that fundamentally it is Mokja’s responsibility to lead the Mokjang ministry.
Please consider each child as VIPs in your Mokjang, pray for them, and take care of them. It should be each Mokjang’s mission to raise them as children Mokjas. When you have a testimony about Mokjang, you must remember to share it with the children as well. Always make time to pray for the children. Never stop trying and never stop praying. Then when children Mokjas are raised in your Mokjang, you will be able to jump together in joy.
