For seven months, after I became the pastor of Hanmaum church in January of 2013, our church started the “Jericho Prayer Campaign.”  It was a time when we set aside other ministries for seven months and stayed focused on prayers; we prayed that God would direct unbelievers to our church and work within them for salvation. We had a “cord of three strands” prayer week during the last month of the campaign; we started the “Living Life” study group in that week as well. It was the first Living Life study group that I led and three people participated. They all had no faith in Jesus. Mokja Michael Son was one of them.

Naturally the “cord of three strands” prayers were focused on the “Living Life” study group, and we had our first fruit. Two out of the three accepted Jesus Christ, and especially Mokja Michael Son received the Holy Spirit during one of the meetings. In the midst of the quiet prayer, the Holy Spirit fell on Mokja Michael Son. The Holy Spirit brought his soul to repentance, and the weight of His glory like pillar of fire exerted on him downwards. He spoke in tongues and heard the voice of God. When the holy spirit was upon Mokja Michael Son, one of the many voices he heard from Him said that God will show many things, and that He will be with him. God also said that he will be given many spiritual gifts and signs, and that he should use them for the glory of God’s kingdom. Even after the study meeting was over, he was in a state where he could not drive home, and he kept speaking in tongues until the next morning. Seven months of focused prayers bore its fruit through Mokja Michael Son. Hanmaum church as a whole prayed together with all their hearts, and there was no doubt that Michael Son was the gift from God to our church.

He became the first one to get baptized since I became a pastor. However, unfortunately, he had to leave us right after the baptism in September of 2013 for his new job at St. Louis. The next Spring, when he used his vacation time to visit us again, he went to the UMass Lowell campus empty-handed, grabbed students on the street, and spread the Gospel. God mysteriously led them to our church, and the first undergraduate single Mokjang was born!  The Mokjang was blessed with many students and spawned two new single Mokjangs.

The church Mokja Michael Son served at St. Louis was a House Church like ours, and it was a gathering place for faithful young Christians from well known missionary groups. The spiritual fire was ignited fiercely in him while dreaming with young Christians who were devoted to missionary groups. He became a leader among them, and explored different ministries. Furthermore, he also met a sister there who accepted Jesus as her savior, and ended up marrying her. She is Jimin Yeo. She also repented and was baptized in the Holy Spirit at the St. Louis church through the Living Life study group and the Holy Spirit Experience meeting. She also became the leader among young Christians, and threw herself into street outreach ministry and bore many fruits. She had such an impact that one of those who was evangelized by her went to seminary! At the same time, they served the university campus Mokjang and sought to grow up spiritually. Through these ministries, they experienced many spiritual gifts, and signs, just as what God had said to Mokja Michael Son. They were faithful in their ministries at St. Louis and bore many fruits.
