Every day at five in the morning, 39 members of the body of Christ gathered together via an online meeting and prayed together. We had to rely on the internet to see each other’s faces and hear each other’s voices but our hearts were bonded strongly. This was not a usual three- stranded cord prayer meeting but it was one of the most memorable prayer meetings that touched our heart deeply.
Some were lifting their hands while praying in their room. Some were praying in the car while driving to work. It was like they were bringing their daily life into the prayer meeting. We did not let go of each other's hand while holding onto the verse "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12.
I already hear thankful testimonies from the prayer meeting. Please share the grace of God you have experienced during the prayer meeting. The more we share the testimonies of God's grace, His grace will multiply like a snowball. As we are getting close to the end of the three-stranded cord prayer meeting, I want you to hold onto this one verse, James 4:9-10. I believe that God gave us this verse. I shared this verse with you on the 6th day of the prayer meeting and we prayed with the verse. “Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”
My heart was always inflated by pride when I was young. It was a baseless pride and I was blinded by it. Looking back now, I think what God wanted from me at the time was humility, but I did not realize it then because I placed my pride higher than the words of my spiritual mentors or the words of God. Since then God has long worked with me to chisel out my heart that now I am starting to enjoy myself deflated from pride. I believe that now is the time to mourn with tears to cleanse ourselves and our congregation. God will then fill up our flattened vessel with His treasures.
From youth group and adults, I want you to all focus on one purpose. I hope you humble yourself and cleanse yourself before God. I pray that this will be a time for all of us to wash away ourselves with tears. Then God will lift us up high.
