Everyone has a different level of comfort when it comes to protection from Covid-19. On what level should the church set such protections for our own safety? I am trying to raise our church’s protection level to meet the standard of those who expect the highest. This is for one reason: to put the minds of the worshipers at ease during the service.
For some, our church’s protection guidelines may seem cumbersome. Even I find that some rules and efforts seem overly complicated and not necessary. Considering that the size of our church is small, and everyone is well informed of each other’s situation, some rules may seem not needed. People may even think, “He has always stayed at home during the pandemic. Is it really necessary for him to take all of the precautions?” I would say, “yes,” and moreover, during the church related meetings, he should not only work to follow the safety awareness precautions required by church but go beyond it.
Feel free to make suggestions as you see needed. I will consider it and be flexible in making adjustments. Eventually we will come up with a safety practice that makes the most sense for Hanmaum church. However, until we get there, please follow the current rules set forth by the church. This is so that seniors, worshipers with high standards for protection, and people who are concerned about contaminating others can put their minds at ease during the service. The in-person worship service is of such value.
However, we should be aware that gatherings of people are dynamic and the unexpected can happen. To prepare for such events, I will put forth a second and third defense. Also, during the church meetings, we may need to make exceptions to the rules. For instance, although wearing a mask is mandatory, some outdoor activities may not require it. However, even in such circumstances, please consult with me first. I will consider the specifics of each case and make a decision. Please keep these rules for a while.
Today, we are officially resuming the in-person worship service. Please pray with me that it will go smoothly.
