I have been reading testimonies from the house churches in Korea. I see many wondrous and touching works that God is doing through these house churches. I also hear from many pastors around the world attending House Church Pastor Conferences saying the same thing. This is something we can see from Hanmaum church as well.

Why do we see the touching hands of God in house churches?  I would like to place it this way. It is because house churches try to obey the gospel of Jesus with their daily lives. If we look back at the history of protestant churches, we can see that God does not reveal his glory in generations where the gospel is reduced to a ticket to heaven. God shows his glory when the gospel becomes the principle in our daily lives and when we start to obey it.

Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”. What Jesus is saying here is that the story of his cross and resurrection should be our guiding principle and we should walk with it daily. We need to lay down our reasoning and circumstances before his words and live the life where we serve when the Bible says to serve and pray when the Bible says to pray. Such simple obedience will let us experience the God who is working in our daily lives.

House church is like a precious jewel for those who obey God, but for others it is a desolate place. We can enjoy the grace of God in the house church when we actively and voluntarily obey God. The same principle applies to Mokjang as well.  If you have faith, Mokjang should become the ground to practice obedience. For those who have faith, I ask you to examine the reason you are attending Mokjang.
