In the Youth group, we were in search of someone who could give practical care to the youth and listen to their stories. We were in earnest need of that someone because in the Youth group we had a number of VIPs and those with weak faith who needed watchful care. At the same time, we also needed a caretaker for “Children’s Mokjas” who could pray for our children. I prayed for that someone for a long time.

Thankfully, God gave our brother, HeeJoon Cho, the new heart to serve the Youth group. His desire to serve our Youth group got stronger while he was in Los Angeles(LA) this summer. After he came back from LA, he served as a leader in “Orlando Children Mokja Conference’. Since then, he had been undertaking the “ministry of taking care of children’s Mokjas” in our church. But it was during the last day of the Word Fest with the pastor Young Joo Kim that HeeJoon was able to confirm God’s calling for him to serve the Youth group.  On that day, HeeJoon received the gift of speaking in tongues, and as he continued to pray for our Youth group children, a desperate heart, indescribable in words, was poured onto him.

To respond to HeeJoon’s heart’s desire, I reflected on a new role for him at the Youth group and the right title for it. The responsibility that I want HeeJoon to commit himself to is to provide overall care for the Youth group and become their leader as Mokja. Because HeeJoon will not give sermons, I think ‘Youth Mokja’ suits him better than ‘Youth director’ for his new role. We are using the title, Mokja, but the actual role and responsibility of HeeJoon will be different. It is a Mokja for the Youth group education ministry, so I gave it a new name, ‘Youth Mokja’.

Let’s all together pray for him and bless him.
