    Reaping in joy with God

The mission school was a great success. A lot of good messages Hanmaum church needed to hear were proclaimed. Furthermore, the time spent with the youth was precious.

In the Jerusalem church, some spoke Greek, and some spoke Arabic.  Even though their languages and cultures were different, the church of Jerusalem united them into one. The igniting power of the Gospel was seen plainly in the Jerusalem church. In the Jerusalem church, the power of the Gospel was not on the spoken words but on what people could see and learn.

Studying the course of church history from Jerusalem to Antioch and how the churches were born, what caught my eye was not the methodology but the essence of the Gospel. Going back to the essence of the Gospel and regrouping my attention to the core of it was my takeaway from the study.

I want to see the heart of Jesus Christ pounding in the hearts of Korean and English congregations in our church. Especially, I want to feel the heart of Jesus Christ beating in the hearts of our children. I felt that I should be the one in front line fully committing myself to the essence of Gospel so that we can start building a church; a church where we can see and experience the power of the Gospel; a church which leaps over the cultural and language barrier, igniting people’s heart.

The dreams of 5 people who started the prayer meeting at Williams College exerted enormous influence on the world.  In the world we live, which seems to be stopped, I see now what we need to do. Among many important lessons I learned from mission school, the one word that lingers in my heart is “prayer”.  I pledge myself to enter the place of prayer hoping for God’s will to be done, not my will.

God is inviting us into his plan, so He can share his joy to us.
