During the time period in the book of “2 Kings”, international situation was stable, and the people enjoyed economic affluence. However, spiritually it was the time of deep darkness. Thick cloud of darkness covered the God’s people and the earth. In the middle of such spiritual deprivation, Elijah rose up as a prophet. He speared through the cloud of darkness and glorified God by shining his light. When he was to be taken up to heaven, his successor Elisha asked to God, “Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied.(2 Kings 2:9). It wasn’t for his greed that he asked double, but it was for his passionate desire to God and for the spiritual renewal of people.

Elisha’s such a plea to God should be ours as well, and the pastors attending the House Church Pastor Conference and the members of HanMaUm Church should pray for it. This is the last conference before the Pastor Young G. Choi (the founder of the House Church) retires. It is his goal and prayer to see the next generation of God’s people to rise up and lead the House Church like Elisha. This was the reason for the last week’s prayer request, “Please allow us a double portion of your spirit”. I urge that you all pray in one heart for the conference.

Please pray this week with the verse from 3 John 1:2, “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.”

We will be hosting 131 pastors around the world in coming House Church Pastor Conference. They represent Kazakhstan (central Asia), Bolivia (central south America), Mexico, Australia, South Korea, and across United States. Please pray that God protects their trip back and forth (flight, transportation between airport and church, transportation between church and hotel, and Boston tour). Please pray for the good health of the participants and the volunteers. For those who are not well, please pray that God will pour the grace of healing. Especially please pray for the good health of the Pastor Young G. Choi’s wife (only attends the House Church Executive Council Meeting). Please focus your prayers on the pastors and their wives whose names were assigned to you. And this week’s prayer request for the conference is “All may go well with you as it goes well with your soul. (3 John 1:2)” Please pray together in one heart.
